Theresa Tanya Hirakawa Waikiki, Hawaii ttkkh1@hotmail.com Dear Mr. and Mrs. Watanabe,

We met outside of the courtroom and talked for a little while. I'm the person in the wheelchair who could speak a little Japanese. I always think of you and hope that you finding it a little easier to cope with your painful experience. Although we are an ocean apart, you are in my heart.

Aloha,
Theresa Tanya Hirakawa October 6, 2010 0 0 75.95.248.18 Suil Puerto Rico suilyanizcintron@yahoo.com I only learned about Masumi a few days ago on a website of missing people and when i saw her face i was reminded of Megumi yokota whose life was also destroyed when she was young. Masumi was a lot like me. She was shy, 21 years old, im only a year old than she was at the time and neither of us were ready to leave home. She also loved animals and so do I. i believe that Masumi was a kind, sweet beautiful girl and the tragedy that happened to her breaks my heart. I pray that you are able to find youre daughters body and bring her home so that you can give her a proper burial. Don't forget that Masumi is looking down at you from heaven, she is protecting youre family and the day will come when you will see her again. Never lose hope. June 2, 2010 0 0 207.204.174.230 colinda ontario, canada colindalyn@hotmail.com My deepest sympathies go out you and your family for the tragic loss of your daughter, sister and friend. I first heard about Masumi's disappearance on Beach Parol Honanlulu. It was a brief segment but after seing this I could not stop thinking about her and how this could be anyones daughter even mine. I'm glad that they found who is responsible for her disappearance but am saddened that Masumi cannot be properly laid to rest. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. March 8, 2010 0 0 67.193.139.142 Tanya Boston Massachusetts, USA tanyam1982@yahoo.com To The Watanabe Family,

My sincere condolences are with you and your family. It has been almost 3 years now since this tragedy began and i am just learning about it now. It has caught my heart in so many ways and I am praying for the find of your deerest Masumi.
I first learned about this story on a television show I was watching "BEACH PATROL-Honalulu. It was a short segment on how the lifegaurds were searching for a young woman that had dissapeared-they never found her body, but quickly mentioned that someone was being charged with her murder. For some reason i was so interested in the story that I went to my computer to look it up. There I had found story after story about the poor young woman who had been taken from this world. Masumi seemed like a wonderful young lady who had such a bright future. To be a shy girl and move out of her comfort of surroundings into a whole new world took a lot of courage from her and just when it seemed like she was opening up into a new woman this terrible man had to go and take her life just like that. I hope that low life gets what he deserves in prison for the rest of his life.
I was hoping as I read site after site I would come across a story where they have found her body, unfortunately I have not and it just breaks my heart. I am extremely far away from not only Masumi's home town, but where she was living at the time of her disappearance and yet I am so touched by this and praying to bring Masumi home to her family where she belongs.
I am hoping to bring this story to life & keep in touch with the progress of finding Masumi. Again I am so sorry from the bottom of my heart to Mr. & Mrs. Wasanabe.

Sincerely

I have not forgotten Masumi. She is in my thoughts most everyday. I pray for her to return home. My only wish is that God will give the strength to those who can assist in finding her. September 18, 2008 0 0 Chris Columbus, Ohio ChristopherALantz@gmail.com My heart is broken for this young woman, so clearly warm-hearted, energetic, adventurous, curious, in the prime of life. Her love of animals speaks fluently of her warm heart. Her choice to travel to Hawaii speaks fluently of her boldness, her energy, her curiosity, her vibrant mind.

I hope the Watanabe family takes some relief from the fact that many, many people around the world are touched by her story and, while we are terribly saddened by this loss, we're inspired by her life.
