I never personally knew Masumi but have followed her Story from where I reside in West Valley City, UT. I grew up on the North Shore of O'ahu before relocating. I'm sorry for your loss. Every time I follow the story I become more sad. My condolences to the entire Watanabe Ohana and all who knew Masumi!

We want you to know that even those of us on the outer islands have been greatly saddened by the terrible disapperance of your beautiful daughter and pray that it helps to see and read about so many people of Hawaii who share in this great loss. I can't help believeing that someday she will be found, but regardless she is surrounded by love & peace. Aloha.

i hope masumi's family know how much the people of hawaii truly cares for what happened to this girl and that the courts grant them justice in an event that should have never happened to begin with. i hope they all find peace.

I sincerely hope that Masumi's family can overcome this adversity and find peace and joy in the life their daughter led. It saddens me that this would happen to a person on foreign soil, and that the language barrier and cultural differences can be bridged in the future so that no one else can suffer this sadness.

Peace to Masumi and the Watanabes.

There are no words to describe the sorrow and sadness I feel whenever I think about Masumi Watanabe. And I think about her often. I also think about her parents and brothers who had their precious daughter and sister taken from them in such a horrible way. It frustrates me to know that there are people who commit such heinous acts in this world.

To Masumi's family ... I hope you will find comfort in knowing that so many people care about you and that we share in your profound sadness. I will keep praying that someone will be guided to her someday and that you will find your closure.

I would like to express my condolences to the Watanabe family for the loss of their daughter Masumi. I know it is difficult to them to accept and understand their loss, and my heart goes out to them. I hope they will remember her for being the kind person that I imagine her to have been.

To the Wantanabe Family,
As a retired Federal Law Enforcement Officer, I was shocked and appalled when I read of Masumi's death.
I have very close ties with Japan and the Japanese
friends who reside there and in Hawaii.
May God continue to watch over Masumi in Heaven.
She will meet you in Heaven someday.
Respectfully,
Richard Alden Mc Afee

Aloha Mr. and Mrs. Watanabe and Family,

One year has passed and you are still on the minds and in the hearts of many who have been praying that you find strength and comfort through this very painful experience. I hope you can feel our love even now. I am so glad that I had a chance to meet you at the courthouse. (I was the person in the wheelchair). Masumi was blessed to have wonderful parents. Please live your life knowing that you could not have done anything to have prevented this. It is not YOUR fault. Continue to keep Masumi's memory alive by loving those around you deeply and by ALWAYS cherishing the times you can spend together with these ones. You'll be in my prayers.
