My condolences to the parents of Masumi and also to the host family. It must be devastating for all who cared so much for Masumi. Hopefully, the person(s) responsible for her disappearance will come forward and admit to this abduction. May all our prayers help bring her back home.

I have lost a daughter Masumi's age as well. My heart is with you and feels your pain. I pray you find her and take her home....Although she will always be with you in soul and spirit. God bless you all.

I have no words to describe how sorry I am for Masumi's Ohana. We will keep Masumi and all of her Ohana in our thoughts and prayers.

Masumi, though shy, was also brave. She came to live in a foreign place and became a participant in the community. As her parents, you must be very proud of her. We, as a community, lost someone special.

May you someday find peace in your heart.

My Mother is from Kumamoto, Japan. I, however; was born and raised in Kona, Hawaii. It saddens me that Hawaii is no longer a safe place to live. Why, oh why did we have to take Masumi's life, an innocent young lady. I'm ashame that we could not protect her. God bless her and her entire family. Please rest in peace as the good people of Hawaii will stand behind your parents and family through this grieving process. Aloha Masumi.

Surely there can be nothing more devastating for a parent, than to lose their beloved child. Masumi sounds like she was becoming an outgoing and dynamic young woman. I am so saddend for all those who cherished and loved her. I will keep your family in my prayers.

My sincerest condolences go out to the Watanabe Family. I hope that HPD finds Masumi soon and also who has done this to her, so that you may be at peace. I pray that she is found alive.

I feel that I should also apologize for the terrible people that cause these crimes, who decide to make Hawaii as a whole, a bad place to live.

Until she is found, I will pray for Masumi.
Again, great love goes out to the family.
